Strut your stuff

How do you walk? I noticed that Keeanu Reeves has a peculiar style fo walking that is prevailent in all his movies, regardless of his roles and character. I also noticed that, I cannot change the way I walk, as much as would like to change it just for the hell of things.

Walking is something we do everyday, and yet we don’t really pay attention to how we walk. If we walk inefficiently, it will ultimately cost our body excessive energy, and tire ourselves out even without us knowing it.

Its not the stylish catwalk i’m talking about, its the everyday walk, do we slouch? droop our shoulders, hunch? walk tall? how does this reflect our psyche and how does our psyche affect how we walk? Sometimes i catch myself with shoulders higher than usual, and have to consciously drop the shoulder.

It is simple things like everyday walking that allows me to contemplate my being. Reflect on the simple things in life. Why do i walk the way i walk? why do others walk the way they walk? How do we walk when we are in a hurry? If i do that i noticed that i leaned forward slightly. Its ok to hurry now and then, but if we perpetually hurry, that will cause a lot of problem for our physicality. Bring our attention to our gait and we shed light to what burdens us, or what makes us happy.

It is not my place to prescribe a best way to walk, the answers lies in our own bodies. We are our walk.
