Aikido is the study of energy

One of the many studies of Aikido is the study of energy.

I’m not a scientist, and do not really understand the scientific explanation of energy. surely we can google that and come out of it with a whole new knowledge. What i can offer is the understanding through Aikido.

we all possess energy, from the day we are born, even after death, we still have energy. Energy when harnessed is power, power when purposely harnessed, becomes powerful. So the fundamentals is energy. Physical energy is the manifestation of thought. We need to attempt this at the level of thought energy. from the moment our opponent’s thought rises to the consciousness, energy is emitted.

Energy is energy, it is neither good nor bad, until it is manifested into power. so before power becomes powerful, we have to get into our opponent’s energy and seize it. when that happens, our opponent will think that they are using their energy, their power to impose their will on us, where actually we’ve already controlled the entire situation. if we can harness that correctly, at the energy level, we can redirect the power to a harmless outlet and everyone has a safe landing.

If we were to get into our opponent’s power, tehre wil be a great struggle, as it will be slightly too late, the energy has been concentrated into a form of power. As a form of power, it is difficult for for us to use that form to the interest of both parties. As the form becomes concrete, hardening to become powerful, our initiative is lost and all we can do is to hod out until the powerful loses the power, back to the energy level where we can attempt our entering again.
