We want perfection, we desire perfection, we get drawn to perfection.
Well, then what is the about perfection?
For the uninitiated, the word is ‘It depends.’ Surely it depends because you have no freaking idea what it is! So we decided to look outside of ourselves for an example of perfection.
Which is plentiful.
Look at tennis and we see folks, battling it out for perfection, Nadal, Federer, and that Tall Serb guy, in Basketball we have Michael Jordan, we have Shaq. Golf? well, we thought we had a Tiger in the woods, it turned out that he was a phoney.
These folks, are perfection because they manifest perfection in their own right. Tell Nadal to race in the Formula One and he’ll fail, and might even lose his life failing. Similarly, Michael Jordan cannot play tennis to win Wimbledon. We think we can be like them, because they are perfect, we think we can be perfect like them.
We have to be perfect like ourselves. Of course we tend to be judgemental about what we are perfect about. Scoring a perfect high score on a computer game isn;t deem as perfect as a Tennis superstar, but that is your level of perfection! Nadal might not be able to do what you did!
So perfection is achievable, so many has shown that it can be achieved and it is the highest ideal. We must live to that highest standards, to live in perfection everyday, and not waste a single moment on the ‘should haves’, and the ‘could haves’. Hindsights are for the experts, we perfectionists must live, every single moment.
Freedom lies in perfection. Freedom from cause and effect, freedom from worry. If you are perfect, why the hell is there anything less to worry about? It even transcends the act of ‘doing your darnest’ If you did your darnest, you are not aiming for perfection. you are aiming for a compromise of perfection. it is a lousy excuse, because you did your best, that is where you are excused from being perfect.
The fact is, we are already perfect, without even us trying. As long as we can see that as our true uncompromising self, there is no way we can lie to ourselves, others cannot lie to us, and we cannot lie to others.
We need to put our foot down firmly and decide on the perfection. Not the level of perfection. There is no levels in perfection, There is only perfection, hell, there is not even perfect or not perfect. We are perfect, period. once we can orientate ourselves towards that, we will be able to experience a kind of freedom, that is unrestrained and totally irresponsible. And once you can taste that level of perfection, you will no longer settle for anything less.
