Take your time

Let’s take a re-look at the old adage again, ‘The road to hell is paved with good intentions.’

So loosely speaking, everyone of us has a good intention, we all wants the best of everything. sometimes the intention is well, but the ways for doing it somehow end up wrong. So many times we thought of doing something and when we did it, the outcome is less than what we have desired. The good we intended turned out so bad, we send ourselves straight to the proverbial Hell.

Take your time!

I was on the streets today and overheard a fortune teller (more like a salesman selling esotericism) telling his crowds the good fortunes of some happens now and if you miss the boat, it will not come for another 12 years, and he emphasized, a 12 year wait!

Wait a moment. Something struck me (literally), I mean, if I am a Buddhist, and believes in reincarnation, then what is 12 years in the ions of our lives? We continue to live for millions and millions of lifetimes, and if this is true, then 12 years is a mere speck. And if you are a Christian and have accepted Christ, then you will be on your way to heaven isn’t it? So why worry about the bad or good you do? God has forgiven you for your sins, right?

No, I’m not taking a swipe at religion, its the irony we human beings play with our lives. Please pardon me, if you take offense. I look at myself at my own irony too, because so many times, we hurry ourselves to get things done, only to have it screwed up. Had we taken the time, apply a little more balance, and space, we would get through each and everyday, with great success, one second a time, one breath a time, in fact life is all about that, we cannot have more than a second at a time, a breath at one go at any one given moment.

Give yourself space, if you are going to be reincarnated, then try to be less of a hurry to do good, you have time, a lot of life time! And a little wayward is fine, is acceptable. If you are a Christian and did a ‘sinful’ thing, don’t fret, it is alright to make mistakes, well intended mistakes too. The problem is we are so sold about doing good all the time, we get so tensed doing bad, and the more we try to repel the bad, the worse we become. We are, by nature, good, and sometimes we forget and we do bad, that don’t make us bad. Good people will do bad things, every now and then. Have the confidence to know that and everything will be fine, even bad things wouldn’t look so bad after all.

So when you want to do good, or miss a good turn, simply wait, it will come around, it always does. Sometimes doing all you can, by going out to get it, we might end up with undesired results.
